Dr O.B Akinola, the National Secretary of CLASFON and Head of Department, Professional Ethics & Skills and Mr D.O Okanyi, an erudite criminal litigation lecturer & a senior brother in CLASFON. Employed their wealth of experience and knowledge to expose & reveal to us the secrets of success in Bar Final.

They are as follows:

  • Strive to understand, since joy follows once you understand and able to reproduce or retrieve it you don't know how much you understand until you have been tested.
  • In law school to make sure you understand make use of the outcomes in the curriculum to assess yourself.
  • Read in groups, no one is an Island .Have a reading partner with whom you discuss with, this helps to correct erroneous material or principle which you might have gathered while reading.
  • Know what works for you, what time you assimilate more. Don’t copy others; do what works for you and have been working for you.
  • Be disciplined, imbibe self discipline. Do what you ought to do, at the time you ought to do them.
  • Give the ten months in Law school your 100% attention. Do not give room for distractions. Run away from time wasters. You need to prioritize, and manage your time well. Its indiscipline that makes us uses your time wisely.
  • There are things that are urgent but not important, Things important but not urgent, Things not important and not urgent. But there are things urgent and important; like the Law School.
  • Marriage is important, however may not be urgent to you now. Law school is more important and urgent; give it your 100%. Don't waste your time on time wasters. Time wasters are things that are neither important nor urgent.
  • Know what your examiners want from you. Pay attention to your lectures in class
  • Read local text books majorly for your exams, since the authors of the foreign textbooks you read will not be among those setting questions for your exams.

Make all the sacrifices that you can make now.
Learn your DRAFTS; let it be part of your daily routine

Finally, the need to be prayerful cannot be over emphasized.

Hence you need not fear, with God’s Grace, we are more than conquerors.

Lets Save the Future

I have been persuaded for some time now, to write on this. I strongly believe someone out there needs to hear this. One thing about being successful in warfare is adopting the right strategy; that a strategy brought success yesterday is not a guarantee that it will bring success today. Modifications are necessary to meet contemporary challenges. It is no longer news, that there is a serious battle, going on between light and darkness. Though we wrestle not against flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12), our authority in Christ suffices to give us victory. Unfortunately the church is distracted: worldliness has crept in; and young people are the worst hit.
